[Link] | I played with my aunt's kittens today.
That makes me happy.
Doesn't take much :D
The other thing that makes me happy is, I've made a new year's resolution, and I think I can keep it. I am pleased with my muse.

[Link] | The mission: Make two Denver Chocolate Puddings. (For the uninitiated, this is a dish that's half-cake, half-pudding, very chocolate, divine in all ways) The results: Chocolate powder all over the counter/the stove/me, sugar up to my wrists, several forks, a knife, and a spatula absolutely covered in melted chocolate, and two Denver Chocolate Puddings. Mission accomplished. I think cake is creepy the way it breathes... You can see its heartbeat as it comes out of the oven... Okay, I think that gave me a story idea. Woohoo!

[Link] | So I joined NaNoWriMo, twelve days into the month. I have no hope of getting anywhere near 50,000 or whatever words – I just want a deadline so I'll, like, work on something. I'm hinome-usagi. I'll be writing about zombies, vampires and werewolves (With the occasional Exorcist thrown in).

[Link] | So, I was looking at the Hallowe'en-themed cupcakes in the grocery store yesterday, and came across the ones with the plastic ornament thingies attached... My Alphonse Elric brain was halfway through saying "Kitty! <3" when a more recently acquired piece of my personality snapped, "Soreyori kumo da, KUMO!" (More importantly, spiders! Spiders!) Yes, indeed, I now have a reflexive overreaction to the sight of a spider. Fear with great fear.

This song is CREEPY. Under the big apple tree That's where I found you I'd like us to play together, but You're still really a cute little teeny apple Bask in the sun And become a fine apple Good boy, good boy, you're a good boy~ Become redder, grow bigger I'll wait a little bit I wonder if we'll be very, very close friends? Hehehe... Become someone admirable What kind of reward do you want? Hehehe... It's too early to play the trump card Let me see an even better face Ah~ What a delicious smell Good boy, good boy, you're a good boooy~ Come and drop down into my hand I'll wait forever
Although, having read the lyrics, I actually really want to hear the song now. Darn.

This weekend I... 1) Rode my bicycle on the road for the first time ever, going to the Japanese bookstore to resolve HunterxHunter cliffhanger-ness. I had to walk up the big hills, so I must get stronger. However, now I have books three, five and six, plus FMA 14, and so I am going to be busy reading for a while, too. (For the record, Killua is totally awesome. Twelve-year-old assassins are always awesome. Oddly enough his voice actress was also Rico in Gunslinger Girl. Crossovers for the win, baby.) It takes me a depressingly long time to get a clear idea of what happens when reading Japanese... I'm fine with FMA, because having seen the anime, I know all the vocabulary, but with HxH there are a lot of things I don't know that aren't likely to appear in a dictionary. Maybe I can get my father to download the anime for me. (Unless it's been licensed, but I don't think it has. Speaking of which, Zombie Powder is coming out in English now. Yay. Or not.) Or go stand in a bookstore reading the English ones, but as I found out the hard way, none of the local bookstores actually has the English ones... Argh. 2) Had a horseback riding lesson after two months' break, and now my legs hurt. But my brother's learning to ride too so I got to watch him. I seem to be improving a bit, though – I can actually stay in the saddle at the canter, without bouncing I mean, which I used to be unable to do. All it takes is a change of phrase in the teacher's advice sometimes. I also groomed Pelli, who is one-third Thoroughbred, one-third Shire, and one-third giraffe (Or so it appears. I have hardly ever felt so small). He kept knocking the brush off the fence post where I'd left it, and when he started kicking at flies I had to move away from his legs. I like him but he's huge and he's a bit scary. I'm not totally fearless. (fearless sometimes = stupid, and those times, I am either a "coward" or merely bent on "self-preservation") 3) Went to the art museum to see paintings done by Americans under the influence of France. I had seen many of them before, but some I had not. We got there before the crowds, thank goodness, which seems to be a tradition of ours. We're getting really good at it, too. 4) Scrubbed the shower which probably hasn't been cleaned in two months. My arms hurt and it's not even really clean yet. I really hate cleaning glass. 5) Spent too long listening to Kaida Yuki singing "Inori" and can't get it out of my head. 6) Saw "Mrs Palfrey At The Claremont", a very good movie. It made me laugh, it probably made other people cry, and it took place in London. That means it's good, yessss... Rupert Friend looks a bit like Orlando Bloom (As my father pointed out XD) but he can actually act. At least I thought he could.
So, who won the war of 1812? According to Jonathan Coulton, it was the USA, but according to what the CD I received today says is "Three Dead Trolls in a..." (In a what, though?), it was the British. Who's got the right of it? I haven't done any drawing in a long time, thinking I'll have to give up on the six-a-day thing, although I do have a couple of ideas for fancomics kicking around my head. Actually, I've been kind of bad lately. I haven't typed up my summer writing and it's already September 11th (Took me so long to figure out why all the flags were at half-mast today! I thought it was Sunday the 10th, because I got up too early and couldn't get to sleep last night). I have classes starting Saturday. I really need to get a move on. (Not looking like that's going to happen, though. I wonder when non-music classes start?) I procrastinate WAY too much.

That is, I have had an inexplicable craving for crab all month, despite never having had it before. And one of my characters likes crab. Can I claim a plate of udon and seafood as a research expense?
Forgot my password to this computer over the summer. ^^; Thank god I know my father's.

ah-HA! Hoshino Katsura is a WOMAN! I THOUGHT AS MUCH! Heh heh heh. This explains the total lack of fanservice. XD Even less than FMA. Mwaha. I thought she was female. XD again.
I know, I'm unreasonably happy about this, but it was confusing me for SO long, and when I looked up the kanji of her name I thought it could still be either. So. Um. Yes.
P.S., is my icon not the most pink and sparkly thing you've ever seen? (I know, I'm a fanGIRL, but it's Rabi and Rabi is love.) P.P.S.: So, I'm really late on this, but Finland won the Eurovision contest, did they not? With their controversial choice of a goth-fantasy-metal band, if I remember correctly? That makes me totally happy because I feel vindicated for being a total Nightwish fangirl. I have noticed in myself recently a tendency to use the words "total" and "totally". >.> Annoying. "Amazing" also, it's my word. I use it for anything and everything.

[Link] | Malia came over today~ We're six minutes into the 39th episode of FMA, which means it shouldn't be too much longer before we're through the whole series. Yay. Yesterday was my last drawing class, which is kind of sad. But I did come up with an idea for a new doujinshi last night. I was therefore up until one drawing, because we watched Persuasion after dinner, and that lasted until midnight. There goes my promise to myself not to stay up too late...

No geek in sight

You're not a "geek". You are a little rowdy, but whether you like it or not. I can see geekyness boiling up inside of you. Dont study eh? Who are you trying to fool. You probably sneak in a couple of mins (at least) *wink wink* How geeky are you? (pics)
I have a weakness for these things.

[Link] | My back yard is SCARY at night. We've got rye growing instead of normal grass, so it's two feet tall and when the wind moves through it there's the sound of movement. Like someone else walking beside you. Or someone coming up behind you. (Mind you, I often think the same thing when I'm horseback riding in a forest... An extra pair of feet several... um... Feet behind me. Makes me jumpy.) But anyway, it doesn't help that it's also pitch black out there. Its almost bearable during the winter, but now we've got three or four trees blocking any light from moon or stars, and the rye... The rye...

[Link] | This account is such a misbegotten little thing... It came into being thus: I google a name. I come up with a friend's Greatestjournal account. I didn't even know about this place before. But here I am. And I discover that you can have loads of icons, and that's it, I'm in. Sigh...
This will also serve as an impromptu Friends Only page, as I seem to be headed that direction! Comment to be added.
